Campaigns vs. Workflows: What’s the Difference?

Understanding when to use bulk marketing campaigns vs. automated workflows

When you’re planning your outreach in Invelo, you’ll often hear about Campaigns and Workflows. While they may sound similar, they serve very different purposes. Here’s a clear breakdown to help you understand when to use each one:

Campaigns

Campaigns are built for bulk marketing. They let you send messages at scale to a group of prospects or contacts and then track the performance of those efforts.

  • Purpose: Designed for bulk marketing and outreach.

  • Target Audience: Limited to Prospects and Contacts.

  • Analytics: Campaigns push results into reporting and analytics so you can track lead conversion, rates, and engagement.

  • Use Case: Sending direct mail, email blasts, or SMS campaigns to a large audience.

Workflows

Workflows, on the other hand, are about automation and process efficiency. They allow you to create automated actions that run based on triggers or rules you set.

  • Purpose: Automates tasks and sequences to streamline your operations.

  • Target Audience: Can be applied to any record type (not just Prospects and Contacts). This feature is highly effective for Lead follow up

  • Analytics: Workflows do not push results into campaign analytics.

  • Use Case: Automatically follow up with leads, assign tasks, move records through stages, or send one-off communications based on conditions.
