Understanding on-demand phone number reservations in Invelo’s Dialer

Learn how Invelo manages phone number purchases, reservations, and charges to improve call deliverability

Invelo’s built-in dialer uses local phone numbers to improve call success rates. To ensure clarity on costs and number management, here’s how phone numbers are purchased, reserved, and charged when using the dialer.


1. On-demand phone numbers

Phone numbers are now purchased on-demand when a user initiates a call, rather than being pre-ordered in advance.

  • A $1 fee applies for each new phone number reservation to cover provider costs. The phone number is based on the area code. 

  • The fee is only applied after the user clicks the Call button. If a user skips dialing a number before initiating the call, they will not be charged.

  • If a phone number order fails, an error will be displayed to the user.

  • While the number is being provisioned, a loader appears to indicate that the dialer is preparing the number.


2. Phone number reservation

Once a number is purchased:

  • It is reserved for 14 days.

  • Using the same number again within the 14-day period will extend the reservation for another 14 days.

  • Numbers that remain unused for 14 days will be released, and a new $1 fee will apply the next time a number is needed for that area code.

  • Only numbers with an Active status are considered valid for use.


3. Call charges

  • The $1 fee applies per new number, not per individual call.

  • Users are only charged when a new number is required for an area code in the dialer session.

  • Calls made using an already reserved number do not incur additional fees.

This approach ensures cost efficiency, prevents unnecessary charges, and guarantees numbers remain available for your dialing activity.
