Using Custom Fields in direct mail templates

Personalize your direct mail with custom data stored in Invelo

Invelo now supports merge fields for custom fields in direct mail templates. This means that if you use custom fields to store data, you can now automatically pull that information into your direct mail campaigns, making your messages more personalized and relevant.

How to Add Custom Field Data to Direct Mail Templates

Follow these steps to insert custom field data into your templates:

  1. Create or Edit Your Template

  2. Open Merge Fields

    • In the left-hand menu of the template editor, look for Merge Fields.

    • Scroll down until you see the section for Custom Fields.

  1. Copy the Merge Field Code

    • Find the specific custom field you’d like to include.

    • Copy the merge field code shown.

  2. Paste It Into Your Template

    • Place the merge field anywhere in your direct mail template where you’d like the custom field value to appear.

    • When your campaign runs, Invelo will automatically replace that merge field with the stored data for each contact.

Example

If you’ve set up a custom field called Negative Estimated Equity, you can add it to your letter like this:

"Based on our research, it looks like your property may have around in negative equity. We’d love to discuss options that could help you."

Each contact will then see their specific negative estimated equity reflected in the message.

Tips

  • Make sure your custom fields are filled out in your contacts before sending your campaign.

  • Use custom fields sparingly to keep your direct mail clear and personal.
