Workflow Action: Create Task
Automate Task Creation to Keep Your Team on Track
The Create Task action in your workflow allows you to automatically generate tasks based on specific triggers, ensuring no lead falls through the cracks. Whether it's a follow-up call or a scheduled appointment, this action helps streamline your team's day-to-day responsibilities.
Task Types Available
You can choose from six task types to match your workflow needs:
-
Follow Up – General follow-up with a lead
-
Appointment – Set a time-sensitive meeting or property visit
-
To Do – A flexible reminder for any custom action
-
Call – Make a phone call to the contact
-
Text – Send a manual or automated text
-
Email – Send a follow-up email (manual or via templates)
Due Date Options
Decide when the task should be completed:
-
None – No due date is set
-
Due Immediately – Task is marked as due as soon as it's created
-
Amount of Time Until Due – Set a delay (e.g., 2 hours, 1 day, 3 business days)
This flexibility ensures tasks are aligned with your process and timelines.
Assigning the Task
Tasks can be assigned to a specific user in your account — ideal for delegating actions to sales reps, follow-up teams, or admins.
Example Use Cases
-
When a prospect becomes a Lead, create a Follow Up task due in 1 day, assigned to the lead owner.
-
If a Lead becomes Cold, create a Call task due immediately and another Email task due the day after.
