Import a CSV file

Learn how to import your records into Invelo through a CSV file import

1. Navigate to the Prospects, Leads, Deals, or Contacts section. Click the arrow next to the Add button on the upper left part of the platform. 
   
   
   
   
   1. You can also navigate to the "More" section and click on "Import data."
      
      
      
      
2. Click the Select file (.CSV) button, then select the file you want to import. Make sure it's in CSV file format.
   
   
3. After selecting the file to import, choose whether you're importing properties or contacts from the two options provided. Once you've made your selection, click "Start Mapping" at the bottom right of the screen.
   1. Also, on the left-hand side, you'll see the property data available in your file.
      
      
4. Invelo will automatically assign the fields in your file to its corresponding Invelo fields, such as property address, contact details, and mailing address. Review and adjust mappings carefully, as incorrect mappings may cause records to fail on import.
   
   Please note: The Invelo contact is automatically assigned as the primary contact—select your preferred contact and contact information to change this.
   
   You can also choose 'Don't overwrite' to retain existing record data.
   During mapping, you can:
   1. Overwrite existing data, including custom fields, or check 'Don't overwrite' to ensure existing data remains the same.
   2. Decide if you want to set your contact and contact information as primary
   3. Or allow Invelo to assign a primary contact and mailing address 
      
      
      
      Now you can either proceed to preview the file you're importing by clicking the Preview button on the lower right, or you can leave for now by selecting the Leave for now button on the lower left part of the page, or restart by selecting the Restart option in the upper right corner. 
      
      
      
      Once you're ready to proceed, click the Preview button to move on to the next step.
5. On the preview page, you can view up to the first 20 rows, with Invelo fields displayed as the headers. Click Next to proceed to the next page.
6. On the final import step will can: 
   1. Apply bulk updates to only new records:
      New records will be assigned to the selected record owner and lifecycle stage. This will not affect existing records. If mapped during the mapping step, these fields will only fill in missing values.
   2. Assign lists and tags to all records:
      The lists and tags selected here will be assigned to all records in your file. 
      
       Click the Finish button when you're ready to complete the import.
